I'm not planning on ANYTHING until this Icelandic sweater is complete!

KR Secret Pals Survey
okay, so i'm very new to the online knitting community, and am so surprised at all that is out there! i stumbled across the knitter's review secret pals thing and thought that I would give it a try... sounds like fun!!! here's my survey:
What are your favorite colors? Red, Pink, and lots of earth tones What are your favorite knitting projects?(ie. lace, socks, feltedknits, hats, etc.) Scarves and hats - that's all I've learned so far! What's on your needles right now? Scarf If I could start or learn something new in knitting it would be? Socks and sweaters (knitting in the round) What yarns (fibers, colors, etc.) do you find you like to knit with? Very soft yarn! Yarns I would love to own... There is a bright pink Moda Dea - Eden yarn I love! I also really like Moda Dea - Aerie and Moda Dea - Dream in the softer, earthier colors. Knitting knick knacks that you'd love to own... (such as stitchmarkers, yarn cutter, point protectors, etc) I don't have any accessories yet, so whatever is most useful! Top 5 favorite knitting tools... ??? Knitting patterns you would love to own... ??? Other pertinent knitting information your secret pal should haveabout you (including any allergy/aversion to certain fibers, colors, scents etc., if any) I have very sensitive skin, so I stay away from wool and any yarn that is even slightly scratchy. :( What are you wanting right now? Anything :) What is your favorite scent? (for soap, lotion...) Vanilla, anything fruity What knitting tools do you need? Circular needles What books you would like to have? ??? What books do you already own? Knitting for Dummies, Stitch n' Bitch (A Knitter's Handbook) What are your favorite online knitting retailers? I haven't bought any supplies online yet. |

YAY! i understand how to use this thing!
finally... i have figured all this blogging stuff out! with the wonderful help of violet i was able to figure out how to add more things like buttons and links to my page. (thanks so much!) well, now that i have this whole thing set up, i suppose i should get some work done on my knitting. for some reason, i have been pretty lazy about picking up my knitting lately. i have a few projects going, but am not overly excited about any of them. the one that i really want to get done soon is a small scarf for my boyfriend's cousin.... it's a little white ribbed scarf and i want to add a red trim along the ends with some left over yarn from a scarf i made for my mom for christmas. hopefully i can get it done and delivered by this weekend when i go to visit his family - i think deadlines definitely help in getting stuff done sometimes! |
well, the snow has begun again....
so hopefully this time i will actually make use of my time stuck indoors and catch up on some reading and my knitting projects.
so i'm a new knitter - just started in december and i've been pretty succesful with a couple scarves (one for my mom for christmas and one for me) and a hat (one to match the scarf i made for myself). i'll have to post pictures of them on here when my roommate gets back with her digital camera. i've made a few attempts to try some more difficult projects, but i just keep getting frustrated (knitting in the round and double pointed kneedles just initimidate me!). so i decided to stick to the simple stuff like scarves and hats for a little while now before i plunge into something a bit more complex. right now i'm working on a cute scarf for my boyfriend's 4 year old cousin.... this one's a bit fancier than the others -- it has ribbing! :) there is a new stitch n' bitch group that is starting to meet in the north end, but i can't seem to ever make it over there.... maybe when it's not snowing out i will venture over to join the group. we'll see. |
